Schoolpex- An overview

 

The Idea……

Since its formation in year 1989 , Philatelic Society of Rajasthan has been regularly organizing Philatelic activities in Jaipur to promote Philately. PSR has successfully conducted Two State and One National Level Philatelic Exhibition by the Name of ‘Envipex’ on exclusive theme of Environment and Conservation in Co-Operation of Environment Department , Government of Rajasthan . These Exhibitions were conducted both for Junior and Senior Philatelists . It was felt that there is a need of special efforts and extra focus to bring up standard of Junior Philatelists  in such exhibitions.

 

Junior Philatelist need more guidance and easy methods of Exhibiting to bring forward Philatelist within himself. Soon , a opportunity came when Tagore Public School approached PSR to give help in conducting Stamp Exhibition for their students. This resulted in organising of Tagpex-95  in November 1995 when Students of Tagore Group of School participated in Stamp Exhibition. While Judging of this exhibition , the Jury Panel Comprising of Mr Jayant Pandya , Mr A.S.Mittal and Mr. Ramesh Khanna , came across the problems faced by young students in such exhibitions and studied the scope of development in this area. This exhibition was very successful in terms of Philately Awareness in School Students hence PSR decided to conduct similar Exhibition on larger level for all Schools of Jaipur with necessary amendment and arrangements to suit students need.

 

More and more participation of Prestigious Schools of Jaipur in an Inter School Philatelic Exhibition not only required Exhibition venue to be centrally located but also active participation of Host School . St. Xavier’s School with its premises in Heart of Pinkcity , School’s Policy of promoting Co-Curricular activities , Very Active School Philately club under Philately Incharge Mr Yogesh Bhartnagar , Experience of holding State level Exhibition etc were strong reasons to make St. Xavier,s School as perfect choice for venue of Schoolpex.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Result………..

 

1st Inter School Stamp Exhibition -Schoolpex 1996:

 

Programmes for Schoolpex 1996 started with holding of Inter School Philatelic workshop in the Auditorium hall of St. Xavier’s School on 20 August 1996.

Schoolpex-96 Stamp Exhibition was held from 23Sept. to 25Sept. 1996 from 9 AM to 2 PM in Science Lab Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur. There were 84 entries from 15 schools . The prizes were distributed in Award Function held on 25.9.96 in Auditorium Hall by Chief Guest , Justice Vinod Shankar Dave Chairman State Law Commission of Rajasthan.     

 

2nd Inter School Stamp Exhibition SCHOOL PEX –1997

 

The Second  Inter school stamps Exhibition School PEX-97 was organized from 24.11.97 to 25.11.97 from 9 AM to 2 PM at Science Lab Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur

 

There were 161 entries from 16schools  . Award Function was held in Auditorium Hall and  prizes were distributed to the winners by Chief Guest , Sh. B.B. Dave, Director Postal Services Jaipur a        

 

3rd Inter School Stamp Exhibition - SCHOOL PEX—1998

 

The third Inter school stamps Exhibition School PEX—98 was organized from 2nd  and 3rd  November ,1998 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Science Lab Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur . The prize distribution function was held on 5.11.98 . Shri Priyadarshi Thakur, Principal Secretary to Govt. of  Rajasthan, Education Department was chief guest who distributed the prizes to the children and Father Jose Philip, Principal St. Xavier School, Jaipur presided the function.

 

There were 126 entries from 22 schools.

 

4th Inter School Stamp Exhibition -SCHOOL PEX—1999

 

The fourth Inter school stamps Exhibition Schoolpex—99 was organized from 4th  and 6th  October  1999 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Science Lab Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur. Chief Guest for award release function was Retd Chief Justice B.P.Beri.

 

5th Inter School Stamp Exhibition - SCHOOL PEX—2000

The fifth Inter school stamps Exhibition school PEX—2000 was organized from 21st and 23rd  december ,2000 from 10 AM to 2.00 PM at Science Lab Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur. Chief Guest for award release function was Retd Chief Justice B.P.Beri.

 

 

 

 

6th Inter School Stamp Exhibition - SCHOOL PEX—2001

The sixth Inter school stamps Exhibition School PEX—2001 was organized from 5th  and 7th  November ,2001 from 10 AM to 12.30 PM at Science Lab Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur . Chief Guest for award release function was Jagdish Poddar , Vice President , Bhaskar Group of News Paper and CPMG , Mr N.R.Bhattacharya

 

7th Inter School Stamp Exhibition - SCHOOL PEX—2002

7th Inter School Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2002 was organized from 13th Sept to 16th Sept. 2002. at Junior  Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur

 

Schoolpex 2002 was inaugurated on 13th Sept 2002 at 11.00 A.M by Chief Guest, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax  , Ms Anjani Oza. Major Attraction of Schoolpex was special introduction of World’s First Elephant Mobile Post Office Mail  which carried mails from Schoolpex venue to Jaipur GPO. Chief Guest released special Picture Card depicting beautiful Elephant Figure in Silver , decorated with Kundan Meena Art and cancellation on Mobile Elephant Mail. Mobile Elephant Mail designed by Convenor , Schoolpex and General Secretary PSR , Mr Rajesh Paharia . The Awards were given by Chief Guest of Award Ceremony CPMG , Mr Tejraj Sharma ,  Mrs Sarita Singh , Director , Postal Services and Principal , St. Xavier’s School , Father Jose Philip SJ presided the Award function.

 

8th Inter School Stamp Exhibition - SCHOOL PEX—2003

8th Inter School Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2003 is organised from 9th to 11th Aug. 2003 at Junior  Hall , St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur

 

Exhibition is inaugurated by Director Postal Services , Mrs Sarita Singh . A special cover is also released on inaugural Day by Chief Guest  on 62 years of Quit India Movement. Chief Guest of Award Ceremony was CPMG , Mr G. Mohana Kumar

 

 

9th Inter School Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2004. This year Major Attraction of Schoolpex was  release of special cover on 100 years of Jaipur State Postage Stamp.

 

 

 

10th Inter School Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2005 was organized by Philatelic Society of Rajasthan . Chief Guest in Opening Ceremony on 27th Sept Tuesday was Director Postal Services , Mrs Sarita Singh and Chief Guest in Award Ceremony on 29th Sept was Chief Postmaster General Rajasthan Circle , Mrs Manjula Prashar . A special covers to co-memorate World Tourism Day with subject of Hawamahal cancelled with Permanent Pictorial Cancellation on Hawamahal introduced in Jaipur was also issued.

 

 

 

11th Inter School State Level Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2006 

The Exhibition day included 14th  Sept 2006 which is Rashtrabhasha Diwas and 16th Sept 2006 which is World Ozone Day , special  covers with cancellation on both the  occasions were released with permission of Department of Posts , Govt of India. The Inaugural Function was conducted on 14th Sept 2006 at 10.30.A.M. and Chief Guest of the function was Former MP & Ace Hindi Writer Dr. Ratnakar Pandey who also  released special cover on Rajbhasha Diwas .

 

 

 

 

 

12th Inter School State Level Stamp Exhibition ‘Schoolpex-2007’ is being organized by Philatelic Society of Rajasthan from 26th September to 29th September 2007 at St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur.

14th Inter School State level Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2009 organized by Philatelic Society of Rajasthan and St. Xavier’s School from 4th Dec to 7th Dec 2009 started with Inaugural ceremony at 11.00 morning today. Chief Guest of Award Ceremony , Director Postal Services HQ, Department of Posts , Mr Ambesh Upmanyu IPS inaugurated the Exhibition . The Chief Guest released Special Cover and Cancellation issued on the occasion on the subject of ‘ India in Space ’

17th Inter School Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2013 organized by Philatelic Society of Rajasthan and St. Xavier’s School with support of Department of Posts , Government of India from 25th Oct to 28th Oct 2013. Chief Guest of the function was CPMG Rajasthan Circle , Mr D K S Chouhan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

18th Interschool Stamp Exhibition , Schoolpex 2014 organised on 17th-18th Oct 2014 at St Xavier's School , Jaipur was inaugurated by President , Rotary Club , Jaipur Main Mr Moses Philumen at 10.00 O'clock morning at Junior Hall , St Xavier's School . Guest of Honor was Director Postal Services HQ , Mr Dushyant Mudgal IPS. On the occasion specially pre-approved design of ‘MY Stamp’ and MY Stamp Folders were released of Jain Saraswati Statue, St Xavier's School Building and Maharishi Bhrigu Statue for the convenience of students who wish to buy only 1 stamp instead of complete sheet of 12. The Folder was provided free of charge

 

 

 

 

19th Rajasthan State Inter School Philately Exhibition namely Schoolpex 2015 is being held on 15th-17th of October 2015 at St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

20th Rajasthan State Inter School Philately Exhibition namely Schoolpex 2016 is being held on 21-22nd of October 2016 at St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur. Chief Guest of function Rani Vidya Devi of Jaipur , Chairperson Maharani Gayatri Devi Education Trust rteleased special cover on Sir Alfred Noble.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

21st  Interschool Stamp Exhibition , Schoolpex 2017 organised on 31st Oct-1st Nov 2017 at St Xavier's School , Jaipur is inaugurated by Chief Postmaster General , Rajasthan Circle Sh B B Dave at 10.00 O'clock morning at Junior Hall , St Xavier's School . Special design of MY Stamp and MY Stamp Folders showing stamps on Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel is also released by Chief Guest

 

22nd Rajasthan State Inter School Philately Exhibition namely Schoolpex 2018 is being held on 5th & 6th Dec 2018 at St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur. A special cover was released on Water Cum Heritage Conservation Project i.e. Dravyamati Yojna.  It will be  inaugurated by Director Postal Services HQ , Rajasthan Circle Sh N R Meena at 10.30 O'clock morning at Junior Hall , St Xavier's School .

 

 

 

23rd  Rajasthan State Inter School Philately Exhibition namely Schoolpex 2022 is being held on 19-21 nov 2022 at St. Xavier’s School , Jaipur. Exhibition was inaugurated by Mrs Jaishree Periwal , Diarector , Periwal Institues of Education . She released special picutre card and cancellation on womens day .

 

 

 

 

24th School Level Stamp Exhibition , Schoolpex-2023 inaugurated at morning 11.00 on 14 Aug 2023 by Director Postal Services ( HQ )Rajasthan Circle , India Posts ,Ms Anubrata Das  . 2nd Day  , special slogan cancellation ' Greetings on Independence Day' was released by India Posts Rajathan circle morning 7.30 at school lawns along with Flag Hoisting
